Privacy policy

Information we collect

We collect very little. Here is all of it:

• Contact form — your name, email address, and the message you write. It is sent to our contact service, hosted on AWS in Canada (Montréal region), and delivered to our inbox. We use it solely to respond to you.
• Server logs — our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, requested page, browser type, timestamp) to keep the site secure and running. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.
• Your display preference — if you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and it is not a cookie.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use analytics, advertising, or social-media tracking cookies, and we do not profile visitors. Nothing on this site identifies, locates, or profiles you, which is why you will not see a cookie banner.

The share buttons on blog posts are plain links to X, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Nothing from those platforms loads until you click one.

If we ever add analytics or similar technology, it will be turned off by default and enabled only with your informed consent — which you will be able to withdraw as easily as you gave it — as Law 25 requires. This policy will be updated first.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to:

• Respond to your inquiries and provide the services you request
• Keep the website secure, available, and working correctly
• Comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.

Service providers

Two providers process information on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes above:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosts the website and the contact-form service. Your contact-form submission and server logs are stored in AWS's Canadian region.
• Our email provider receives contact-form messages so we can read and answer them.

We use no analytics vendor, advertising network, or other third-party service that collects information about you.

Data retention

We keep contact-form messages for as long as needed to respond to you and to keep a record of our business relationship, then delete them. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting. Your display preference stays in your browser until you clear it.

Your rights

Under Law 25 you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
• Ask us to delete your information, or to stop using it
• Withdraw any consent you have given, at any time

To exercise any of these rights, write to the person in charge of personal information named below. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, and we limit what we collect in the first place. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new revision date. If we ever start collecting more than what is described here, we will update this policy before doing so.
